I spent a large part of my senior capstone conducting my applied media analysis through a research study. My research question related to if cancel culture in the media is causing comedians to lean more towards controversial humor or self-deprecating humor.

I performed a majority of my research through an ethnographic study of both professional and amateur comedians by coding the different types of jokes that were made in each performance and in which topic the joke covered.
